Crafting turns spare gifts from one collection into a new gift, sometimes with a model no box can give you. Here's how it works, and what it costs when it fails.

Most collectors end up with more copies of some collections than they'll ever shelve. Crafting is what you can do with that depth: put spares in, take a chance, and maybe walk away with a piece no box can give you.

## How do you craft Telegram gifts in Gifters?

Open the Gifts hub, go to "Craft and Challenges" and choose "Combine gifts". Pick a recipe, add up to four gifts from that recipe's collection, and check the "Success Chance" the app shows. Then craft. If it works, you get a new gift of that collection, sometimes with a **craft-only model** you can't get from boxes. If it fails, you get nothing back. Either way, the gifts you selected are used up: "Selected gifts burn even if crafting fails."

> Crafting can fail, and the gifts you select burn whether it succeeds or not. Only put in gifts you're truly happy to lose.

## Why collectors craft

Boxes are the main way gifts enter the game, and each box reveals one random gift. That leaves some models out of reach entirely: craft-only models never come out of a box, so a successful craft is the only way to make one yourself. That's the real reason the crafting screen exists.

It's worth being clear about what a success means, though. A successful craft gives you a new gift of the recipe's collection, with its own Model, Backdrop, Symbol, Serial, rarity tier and worth, like any other gift. Sometimes that gift has a craft-only model, and sometimes it doesn't. If those trait names are still new to you, the [rarity guide](https://gifters.space/blog/gift-rarity-models-backdrops-symbols/) explains each one in plain words.

## Crafting, step by step

1. Open the Gifts hub and tap "Craft and Challenges", then "Combine gifts".
2. Choose a recipe. Each recipe belongs to one collection, and every gift you add must come from that collection.
3. Select up to four gifts from it. Read each one before you add it; once you craft, they're gone.
4. Check the "Success Chance" on screen. The app shows it before every attempt, so look at it each time rather than assuming.
5. Craft. A success shows "You Got a New Gift!" and the new gift lands in your collection. A failure shows "Crafting Failed", and nothing comes back.

That's the whole loop. The steps are quick; the decision in step 3 is the part that deserves your time.

## Which gifts can go into a craft?

Crafting takes Common and Uncommon gifts only. A gift that was itself crafted can't go back in, and a gift on your shelf has to come off the shelf first; the app will remind you to "Take this gift off your earning shelf before crafting it". A craft can also cost a Giftcoin fee, shown before you confirm, and that fee is burned along with the inputs.

## Is that gift really spare?

A spare is a gift you've decided you can lose, and it helps to check that decision from three sides before it goes into a recipe.

First, the traits. Two gifts from the same collection can be completely different pieces, and the one with the combination you love isn't a spare just because you own another copy. Second, the shelf. A gift that's helping a collection or backdrop group build chemistry diamonds is doing work for your whole shelf, not just itself; the [shelf chemistry guide](https://gifters.space/blog/gift-chemistry-shelf-guide/) shows how to tell. Third, the market. A spare can also be sold, listed or traded, and the [market guide](https://gifters.space/blog/gifters-market-buy-sell-gifts/) covers those routes.

If a gift passes all three checks, crafting is a good use of it. You're turning depth in one collection into a shot at something you couldn't unwrap any other way, and you're doing it with gifts you'd made peace with letting go.

## Challenges: the guaranteed option

Right next to crafting sits the other way to put spare gifts to work. Challenges are labeled "Trade for rewards", and the app sums them up as "Trade spare gifts for guaranteed rewards while stock lasts." You hand in gifts that match what a challenge asks for and claim its stocked reward.

The difference is the trade-off. Crafting is a chance at a new gift of the same collection, with a burn either way. A challenge is a known reward for known gifts, as long as there's stock left. If you want certainty, look at the challenges first; if you're chasing a craft-only model, crafting is the only door.

## After the result

On a success, stop and read the new card before doing anything else. Its traits and worth tell you whether it belongs on your shelf, on the market, or, one day, in another recipe. A craft-only model is special, but it's still a gift with a worth and a place to earn.

On a failure, the inputs are gone and there's no undo. You can rebuild depth in that collection the usual ways, through boxes, the market, swaps or a gift a friend sends you, and the same rule applies the next time round: only gifts you can stand to lose go into "Combine gifts".

Like everything in Gifters, crafted gifts are virtual copies of Telegram gift collections; they stay in the game and can't be withdrawn as real Telegram gifts. Craft your true spares, read the Success Chance each time, and treat every craft-only model you make as the bonus it is.

## Questions players ask

### Do my gifts burn if crafting fails?

Yes. Selected gifts burn even if crafting fails. You only get a new gift when the craft succeeds, and the gifts you put in are gone either way.

### What is a craft-only model?

It's a model you can't get from any box. A successful craft can sometimes produce one, so crafting is the only way to unwrap it yourself. A success doesn't always mean a craft-only model.

### How many gifts go into a craft?

Up to four, all from the recipe's collection. The new gift you craft belongs to that same collection.

### What are Challenges?

Challenges sit next to crafting in the Gifts hub. You hand in spare gifts that match a challenge and claim its stocked reward, which is guaranteed while stock lasts.
